Cabins

Vacationers at Babcock may select from among 13 standard log cabins located by Glade Creek (trout stream) - (may require access by as many as 65 steps), five standard cabins of frame construction, eight bungalow cabins and two deluxe handicap accessible cabins.  Each standard cabin features a woodburning fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and bath with shower.

All cabins feature electric lighting, modern appliances, and are completely equipped for housekeeping including cooking utensils, dishes, flatware, bed linens, and towels.

Bungalow cabins are a combination of living/dining/bedroom with built-in double bunks or single size bunks, small bath with shower, and a screened in porch.

Deluxe accessible cabins are very modern and have heating/air conditioning as well as fireplace. All of our cabin's open in Mid-April and close the last week of October, weather permitting.

  • Dogs and cats are permitted in a limited number of cabins, call for reservations with pets. You may review the WV State Parks pet policy
  • No alcoholic beverages allowed in the cabins or campground area.

Camping

Babcock offers a 52-unit campground (includes 4 handicap accessible sites) complete with tent or trailer campsites, picnic tables, ground grills and a central bathhouse with toilet facilities, hot showers and coin-operated washers and dryers. Two potable water fill-up stations and two sewage dump stations are available for campers and RV's.

Nearly 25% of the campsites at Babcock are available for reservations, while the remainder are rented on a first come, first served basis.  Reservations may be made by mail, phone, or in person up to seven days in advance and must be secured by payment of a deposit for the entire rental fee, plus a $5 handling charge. The campground opens in mid-April and remains open until October 31st (weather permitting). When considering dates in April or October, please contact Babcock for actual opening and closing dates.

Rates:

Electric sites = $21 per site / per night
Non-electric sites = $18 per site / per night

Only one tent or trailer is allowed per site.
Campsite numbers will not be guaranteed; however, every effort will be made to assign the campsite requested.

Reservations begin the Friday before Memorial Day and ends Labor Day.  Only mail-in reservations will be accepted from February 15-March 14.  Mail-in reservations must be postmarked on or after February 15, or they will be returned.  A maximum of three reservation forms per envelope will be accepted; any more and all requests will be returned.  You may also call in for a form to be sent to you and to be mailed back to the park.
